Adding blocks to pop-ups

Overview

Pop-ups can contain multiple block types in much the same way as a sequence page. Adding blocks to pop-ups is an excellent way to make interactive activities accessible from either a single or multiple point on a page, without them being a direct part of the page. Blocks within pop-ups are displayed in either of two ways; plain, or horizontal tabs.

How to add blocks to pop-ups

Follow the steps in Adding pop-ups to create the pop-up.

  1. In the Blocks tab of the pop-up, click on the (Select type to create) dropdown menu to select the type of block to create within the pop-up, and click Add. See Block types for explanations on the different blocks which can be added.
  2. Add, edit, unlink and reorder blocks in the same way as on a sequence page. See Adding a basic content block for the basic steps on block handling.
  3. Once finished, click Save and close.
Options

Blocks in pop-ups are displayed either plain, or in horizontal tabs. From within the pop-up options in the Blocks tab, click on the How would you like to display the blocks? dropdown menu underneath the blocks listing area. By default Horizontal tabs will be selected.

Plain will display the blocks sequentially, one below another, in the same way as on a sequence page. This is best suited if only one block is being added to the popup.

Horizontal tabs will add a small tab bar near the top of the popup window, and each block will be in a different tab. The name of the block as it appears in the tab will be taken from the block heading. Horizontal tabs is the best display option if multiple blocks are being added to the pop-up.
